The Moment That Sparked It All
In 2019, Martin was helping a client with acoustic issues and ordered WoodUpp samples. While flipping through a newsletter, he noticed horizontal panels with mounted shelves and thought, “Why not hang directly from the panels?
Then came the realization: most Akupanels are mounted vertically, which means there’s nothing to grip onto. Shelves would just slide down.
That challenge became his opportunity.
The Designer’s Mindset
Martin thrives on finding simple solutions to complex problems. That mindset led him to sketch out new concepts – starting with the idea of hanging picture frames. He created a 3D-printed prototype with wings that locked behind the slats and held in place using a vise-like grip.
From there, his imagination took over. What if it wasn’t just for pictures? What if you could hang shelves, hooks, even furniture – without drilling, measuring, or damaging your wall?
The Evolution of an Idea
That prototype evolved into the DUPPs. Then came the Sink Bracket, designed with an internal thread so you can fix accessories with a simple finger screw.
No power tools.
No stress.
With these innovations, the CREATE Series was born – a modular system that redefines what panels can do.
